Former Health and Human Services Secretary Louis Sullivan said that the U.S. health system needed to be more efficient and less bureaucratic. He talked about the costs of U.S. health care and strategies to eliminate racial health disparities. He also talked about issues such as mortality rates, minorities in the medical profession, doctor training, and access to affordable health care.

This was the luncheon keynote address of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Health Equity Summit, titled “Enhancing Health Status and Achieving Health Equity at Lowest Cost,” held at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel. close
