Harlin McEwen and John Brown talked about communications changes made for emergency responders since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and changes still need to be made. They discussed proposals for a national communications system that allocates additional radio spectrum, the “D block,” to public safety. Both guests believe added spectrum would help diverse agencies, such as fire departments and police from varying districts, communicate with one another during emergencies. close
