Elizabeth Duke spoke about the state of the housing market. In her remarks she called for more government assistance for homeowners and noted that the economy had been hampered by low demand for homes. To reverse this trend, she said owners should be allowed to modify mortgage loans. She also called for unoccupied Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac properties to be converted into rental units. close
