The Whole Damn Deal
Kathryn McGarr talked about the political career of her great-uncle, Robert Strauss. An attorney in a Washington law firm, Mr. Strauss was well connected inside the Beltway and served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1972-1977, ambassador to the Soviet Union in 1991, and as an advisor to several presidents. Ms. McGarr examined Robert Strauss' political relationships and influence, which, although he was deemed “Mr. Democrat” by the media, were far reaching and crossed party lines. Kathryn McGarr also responded to questions from members of the audience at Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, D.C. close
