Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) was interviewed by Mike Allen about policy, politics, and the news of the day. Topics included immigration, efforts to combat AIDS in the U.S. and abroad, the future of the Republican party, and developments in Syria. Regarding the work of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, he said he is hopeful members will come up with a plan both sides can agree on by the November 23, 2011, deadline, but he would not “put any money on it.” After the interview, Senator Rubio answered questions from the audience. close
