The U.S. Capitol Historical Society honored the lives and careers of Senator Daniel Inouye (D-HI) and Representative John Dingell (D-MI) with the annual Freedom Award, which recognizes individuals and organizations who have advanced greater public understanding and appreciation for freedom. Senator Inouye is a World II combat veteran having won the Medal of Honor. Representative Dingell is the longest serving member of the House in history. close
