Government and private sector officials testified on the use of antipsychotic drugs on dementia patients in nursing homes and long term care facilities. The Food and Drug Administration has said these drugs could cause serious or life threatening adverse effects. Topics included staff training, increased familial involvement, and better collaboration and communication during the transfer stage from a hospital to a nursing home or long-term care facility. close
