Historian Stanley Weintraub recounts the Christmas holiday of 1941, two weeks after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor. Mr. Weintraub examines America’s entry into World War II and the populace’s new, wartime reality. He also recalls Winston Churchill’s visit to the White House on December 22, 1941, where President Roosevelt and Churchill lit the White House Christmas tree and discussed their alliance and strategy for the War. Stanley Weintraub responded to questions from members of the audience at Chester County Book and Music Company in West Chester, Pennsylvania. close
