Among the topics they addressed were lessons learned from the April 5, 2010 explosion at the Upper Big Branch mine in Montcoal, West Virginia that killed 29 miners and severely injured two more. Joseph Main called for tougher criminal sanctions to deter mining companies from engaging in risky activities that put their employees in danger. close
