Ben Bernanke talked about what the Federal Reserve did in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis and its role as “lender of last resort.” He covered the role of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Treasury Department, and the impact of the Dodd-Frank financial regulations law. He also said the housing market remains a drag on the economy and briefly commented on improvement in the labor market.
