Members of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee spoke to reporters and answered questions on their report on business practices and other issues surrounding a phone hacking scandal. The report found that some senior executives at the former British tabloid News of the World and at News International mislead Parliament. The report did not find evidence to suggest James or Rupert Murdoch mislead the committee, but did state that “Rupert Murdoch was unfit to run an international company.”
Many of the questions focused on the “division and party politics” within the committeeover the term “unfit” and on potential consequences facing those who mislead Parliament. close
