Vice President Joe Biden talked about renewing the Violence Against Women Act, enacted in 1994 to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls. The legislation, which would reauthorize more than $650 million in programs and was expected to be taken up in the House after their recess. The act was drafted by then-Senator Biden. close
