Satirist Christopher Buckley discussed his recent novel that revolves around efforts by a Washington lobbyist, “Bird” McIntyre, and neo-conservative, Angel Templeton, to gain congressional approval for a secret weapon system. The pair plans to gain favor by starting a rumor that the Chinese government wants to assassinate the Dalai Lama, which, in turn creates an international crisis.
