This presentation was in the James Michener Non-Fiction Pavilion on the grounds of City Hall at the 3rd annual Gaithersburg Book Festival.
Gary Krist talked about his book, City of Scoundrels: The 12 Days of Disaster That Gave Birth to Modern Chicago. He talked about a series of disasters in 1919 that threatened the dream of turning Chicago into a model metropolis. He showed slides during his presentation and responded to questions from members of the audience.
