Heroes for My Daughter
Brad Meltzer presents a collection of women (and some men) throughout history that he believes his daughter, Lila, can look up to and derive strength from. The author profiles a range of historical figures, from astronaut Sally Ride to Civil Rights leader Rosa Parks and aviator Amelia Earhart. At this presentation Mr. Meltzer was introduced by his son, and his daughter read the entry about her mother. He told a story behind the photograph of actor Christopher Reeve that is included in the book and told how he developed an inspirational clothing line. Mr. Meltzer responded to questions from members of the audience at Books and Books in Coral Gables, Florida. close
