General John Allen briefed reporters on U.S. military operations in Afghanistan. He said the Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA locate Osama bin Laden was sentenced to 33 years in prison for conspiring against the state. Regarding the NATO air assault in Salalah that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers on the Afghan border, General Allen stated that the lines of communication with Pakistan were once again open and called it a “good sign.” close
