Francis O’Brien, chief of staff to House Judiciary Committee Chair Peter Rodino in 1974, talked about the work and internal politics of the Judiciary Committee staff inquiring into impeaching President Richard Nixon. Topics included the search for a special counsel to lead the inquiry, the decision of the committee to issue a subpoena for the president, and President Nixon’s resignation and pardon by President Ford.
