Michael Joseph Gross talked about his Vanity Fair story on the Internet, “World War 3.0,” and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Topics included the history and regulation of the Internet, cybersecurity, individual privacy concerns and data collection by corporations and governments, and the December 2012 meeting of diplomats from 193 countries in Dubai to renegotiate the International Telecommunications Union. Mr. Gross in the interview said that most law-and policy-makers in Washington, D.C., are not qualified to address issues related to cybersecurity and should “let the hackers in” to advise them.

This program was part of a “Washington Journal” series highlighting recent magazine articles.

Mr. Gross participated from New York City. close
