The State Department released the 2012 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report, which evaluates the efforts of countries around the world to fight slavery. Secretary Clinton talked about the report and its focus on stopping what she called “modern slavery.” She outlined steps the U.S. government is taking to bring human traffickers to justice, identify victims, and encourage non-responsive governments to begin implementing anti-trafficking measures. Following Secretary Clinton’s remarks, Luis CdeBaca presented plaques to individuals who had done exceptional work in the area of human trafficking. close
