Tubes: A Journey to the Center of the Internet
Andrew Blum reports on the physical components and locales that allow the Internet to function throughout the world. The author visits numerous sites, from data centers for Microsoft, Google, and Facebook in the Pacific Northwest to the placement of a 10,000-mile undersea cable off the coast of Portugal.
