Shamim Jawad discussed her first-hand experiences in Afghanistan and the rights of women and children in the country. She painted a bleak picture with many obstacles towards the mobilization of these groups including education, cultural prejudices, lack of monetary capital, and few resources. She emphasized the need for international groups to reach out to women and children to give them the resources they need to raise their quality of life. Audience members asked questions. close
