Representative Doris Matsui Oral History Interview Next, we feature U.S. Representative Doris Matsui of California who serves on the House Rules Committee and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. During the Clinton Administration, she was Deputy Assistant to the President in the White House Office of Public Liaison. Matsui first took office after winning a special election to fill her husband’s seat - Robert Matsui, who entered Congress in 1979, died in 2005.
