Panelists talked about suicide prevention efforts. They focused on a Department of Health and Human Services initiative that would provide nearly $56 million in new grants and set new standards for doctors to earn incentive payments and also hire additional 1,600 mental professionals. The panelists agreed mental health and substance abuse are a public health issue that should be confronted by de-stigmatizing mental illness and suicide. close
