Vice President Quayle campaigned in Ohio, a crucial state for the 1992 presidential election in terms of electoral votes. He stopped at several small towns where he met people, gave speeches, visited with factory workers and a football team, and was presented with gifts from local Republican officials. He held an impromptu news conference where he was questioned by reporters about his Council on Competitiveness and other political matters. He also spoke to reporters on Air Force Two. close
