Susan Tejada talked about her book, In Search of Sacco and Vanzetti: Double Lives, Troubled Times, and the Massachusetts Murder Case That Shook the World. Two Italian-born laborers, anarchists Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, were convicted of a 1920 daylight robbery and murder on the streets of South Braintree, Massachusetts, and executed in 1927. In her book she draws parallels between the anti-anarchism atmosphere surrounding the case and the terrorism-inspired actions prompted by the September 11, 2001, attacks, and documents that the defendants did not receive a fair trial. She was interviewed while at the 12th annual National Book Festival, held on the National Mall.
