Historians, scholars, filmmakers and journalists gathered for a 50th anniversary retrospective on the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Topics ranged from the history of the incident, its impact on the Cold War and generations following the crisis, diplomatic relations between the Soviet Union, the U.S. and Cuba, as well as international nuclear arms control policy in the ensuing decades. Short video and audio clips were shown during the presentations. Participants included Sergei Khrushchev, the son of Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev. close
