World War Two veterans talked about their experiences fighting in the Pacific Theater. R.V. Burgin reflected on his time in the Marine Corps as described in his book, Islands of the Damned. Roy Matsumoto discussed his Army service behind Japanese enemy lines in Burma. The moderator was Patrick O’Donnell, author of Into the Rising Sun: World War II’s Pacific Veterans Reveal the Heart of Combat. The American Veterans Center hosted the discussion at its 15th Annual Conference. close
