House Speaker John Boehner spoke to reporters about resolving the “fiscal cliff,” the impending tax increases and budget cuts at the end of 2012 if Congress cannot reach a new budget agreement. He said a Congressional Budget Office report proved that ending the George W. Bush-era tax cuts would hurt the economy. He said he hoped that 2013 would be the year for tax code and Social Security and Medicare reforms.
