More than 300 members of Great Britain’s youth parliament, ages 11 to 18, gathered in the British House of Commons for their annual debate. The students debated five topics that would be considered for their national campaign. They discussed public transportation costs, better employment opportunities, marriage equality, an equal national minimum wage, and a curriculum that better prepares students in life skills. Speaker of the House John Bercow presided over the morning and afternoon sessions, with a few remarks by other members of Parliament. Following their debate, the students voted that of the five topics debated “curriculum for life skills” would be the issue for their national campaign. close
