Representative Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), who was retiring at the close of the 112th Congress, reflected on her 20-year career in the House of Representatives. She spoke about her time as co-chair of the progressive caucus, calling them the “real Democrats” as well as her opposition to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. She said her biggest mistake was voting for a 2001 resolution authorizing the initial use of force following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. She was interviewed in her office in the Rayburn House Office Building. close
