This was the opening session of the American Public Transportation Association annual legislative conference.
Following opening remarks from American Public Transportation Association leadership, Josephy Szabo and Peter Rogoff talked about the current and future state of the public transportation system in the U.S. Mr. Szabo Joseph stressed the importance of railway investment, saying that a modern transportation system was not a luxury but a necessity. He outlined new projects in the Northeast, South and Northwest. Mr. Rogoff talked about strengthening public transportation and warned of the negative effects of sequestration on transit funding.
