Senior military legal officials testified before the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Personnel about sexual assault in the military. The committee focused on a senior Air Force commander’s decision to overturn an assault conviction against an Air Force captain. Defense Secretary Hagel had begun a review of that decision and the policy allowing senior commanders to overturn sexual assault convictions by courts-martial. close
