The American Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession held a luncheon in San Francisco to give the Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Awards. Anita Hill, who gained fame when she testified against Judge Clarence Thomas on charges of sexual harassment at the Senate hearings on his Supreme Court nomination, gave a speech at the event after she had received a special award for her efforts in ending sexual harassment in the workplace. She talked about the hearings and the spark that her testimony created on the subject of sexual harassment. close
