The National Institute for Early Education Research announced the results of its annual report on early childhood education funding and quality. The findings showed that funding cuts at the state level resulted in a ten-year low point in support for early childhood education and that state funding for the 2011-2012 school year decreased by $500 million. Secretaries Arne Duncan and Kathleen Sebelius addressed the group on President Obama’s commitment to make pre-kindergarten education more widely available. close
