Pat Buchanan 1992 Republican Convention Address Republican presidential candidate Patrick Buchanan belittled the foreign policy experience of Democratic presidential nominee Gov. Bill Clinton during his address to the Republican National Convention. Mr. Buchanan assailed the policies set forth by Gov. Clinton and his running mate Sen. Al Gore, claiming Gov. Clinton’s foreign policy experience amounted to eating at the International House of Pancakes. He also assailed Gov. Clinton’s wife Hillary for her views on the rights of children and women, calling it “radical feminism.” Prior to Mr. Buchanan’s remarks, during Ms. Summa’s introduction cameras recorded Vice President Dan Quayle and his wife entering the floor of the convention. close
