Kevin Johnson talked about a report by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, “Firearm Violence, 1993-2011,” which found that firearm-related homicides declined 39 percent and nonfatal firearm crimes declined 69 percent from 1993 to 2011. The report also found that when people are killed, it is most likely to be with a gun. He also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
