Michael Conway, who served as counsel to the U.S. House Judiciary Committee during their impeachment inquiry of President Richard Nixon, talked about meeting Bill and Hillary Clinton and John Doar during his time at Yale Law School, and about working for Doar, who served as special counsel to the judiciary committee. Mr. Conway also gave firsthand accounts of the committee’s hearings, writing of the final report, and the bipartisanship and secrecy among judiciary committee staffers. This oral history interview was part of a Richard Nixon Presidential Library project to document the 37th president’s administration. close
