Representative Sandy Levin (D-MI), ranking member of the House Committee on Ways and Means, talked about tax reform legislation. He said there was a slim chance that the Congress would pass a bill overhauling the tax code, but the effort would only be successful if there were more bipartisan interaction. Issues discussed included taxing overseas profits and eliminating popular tax deductions. He was interviewed by David Wessel, with the assistance of John Bussey, and responded to questions from members of the audience.
