The Science Delusion
Curtis White talked about his book, The Science Delusion: Asking the Big Questions in a Culture of Easy Answers, in which he argues that authors like Jonah Lehrer, Richard Dawkins, and Christopher Hitchens are misguided in their faith that science will eventually provide answers to all of the questions we have regarding the nature of human beings and the physical world. The author argued that the debate over religion versus science has left out the historical role of philosophy, art, and culture. During this event, hosted by the Melville House, Mr. White spoke with Lewis Lapham, editor of Lapham’s Quarterly. close
