Telephone lines were open for comments as Senators held a rare closed-door joint caucus of the Senate convened at the request of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to discuss proposed changes to the Senate filibuster rules. Live scenes were shown in the background of the U.S. Capitol.

Ed O’Keefe was interviewed by telephone.

A video clip was shown of former Senate Parliamentarian Robert Dove speaking about the filibuster July 12, 2013, and of Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-NV) speaking earlier in the day.

After the meeting adjourned Senators John Thune (R-SD) and Harry Reid (D-NV) were heard speaking to reporters. close
