Witnesses testified on the impact of changes in domestic oil production, refining and distribution on price of U.S. gasoline and fuel. Adam Sieminski, the head of the U.S. Energy Information Administration, told the committee that while domestic crude oil is at its highest output since 1992, it’s still the international market that determines prices at the gas pumps. He said that the increase in U.S. exports on the world market has helped to keep gas prices from spiking even higher. close
