Attorney General Eric Holder spoke about federal prision policy at the American Bar Association’s annual meeting. In his remarks he called for major changes in the federal criminal justice system, including doing away with some mandatory minimum sentencing policies for non-violent offenders. He also called for the early release of seniors and ill inmates who no longer posed a danger to society, yet required expensive special care. close
