Telephone lines and electronic communications were open for comments on the town hall meetings being held by members of Congress in their districts during the August recess. The question was asked, “Are town halls helpful?” The program included clips from previous C-SPAN programming and from YouTube. Telephone interviews from earlier in the day with Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Representative Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) about their town hall meetings were played, as was an interview with Washington Post blogger Aaron Blake about the dual citizenship status of Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). close
