Immigration Policy and Homeland Security

Representative Lou Barletta (R-PA), a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, and retired Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) Agent Michael Cutler talked about the impact of undocumented immigrants on the economy and national security. Representative Barletta talked about his reasons for helping to pass restrictive immigration measures when he served as the mayor of Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Michael Cutler commented on the need for border security to protect the country from terrorists and drug trafficking. Other topics included the Boston Marathon bombing, comprehensive immigration reform, and the security threat of chemical weapons in Syria. They responded to questions fro the audience of students and community members.
