President George H.W. Bush addressed enthusiastic supporters at a political rally in his shirtsleeves. He spoke about many of his campaign themes, including family values, national security, foreign policy, taxes, and the Democratic Congress. He was on a campaign swing through the Midwest and southern states after his nomination at the Republican National Convention in Houston. He introduced Barbara Bush and shook hands with political candidates on the stage at the end of the speech. close
