Federal, state, local, and tribal officials testified on their efforts to combat human trafficking within the United States. The State Department reported that nearly 20,000 people were trafficked to the U.S. for prostitution, domestic servitude, and other related crimes. Among the issues addressed in the hearing were the the causes of human trafficking, identifying victims, intervention and treatment of victims, and the impact on local communities. close
