The Right to Stay Home Former United Farm Workers organizer David Bacon talked about his book, The Right to Stay Home: How US Policy Drives Mexican Migration, in which he profiles Mexican workers in Mexico and the U.S. who are trying to change trade and economic policies that have made immigration to the U.S. - both legal and illegal - a necessity. In his book, Bacon argues that many Mexican workers have little desire to come to the U.S. and would happily stay in Mexico if they could make a living there. He spoke at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York City. close
