Witnesses testified on efforts to reduce health care-related infections from various medical treatments. One of the witnesses recounted his son’s death from sepsis following a school nurse’s failure to properly clean a scrape on his leg and a subsequent misdiagnosis by medical professionals. Dr. Beth Bell talked about the emergence of resistant bacteria due to the overuse of antibiotics.
