Representative Leonard Lance (R-NJ) talked about the government shutdown, a possible short-term deal to raise the debt limit for six weeks, and divisions in the Republican Party over short and long-term strategy. He said he supports a short-term deal to raise the debt limit for six weeks and hopes the White House does as well. He also said he’d like to see negotiations to reopen the government continue through the weekend, so that it can be reopened as soon as possible. close
