Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel held a press briefing about the re-opening of the federal government, sequestration budget cuts, and the upcoming conference committee on a fiscal year 2014 budget. He said he welcomes the end of the shutdown but stressed that Congress still had not removed all the fiscal uncertainty with this latest deal. He further stated that in the upcoming few months Congress would have the opportunity to provide certainty by producing a budget and eliminating the sequestration budget cuts. close
